What Is Happening In Your LUTEAL PHASE ?
The luteal phase is the second half of your menstrual cycle. It starts just after ovulation and ends at the beginning of your next period.
During this time, progesterone levels are highest. This helps to thicken your uterine lining in preparation for a possible pregnancy, if you are not already pregnant from the egg that was released during ovulation.
If you're trying to get pregnant, it's important to know when you're ovulating so that you can have sex at that time! The best way to do this is by tracking your cervical mucus and basal body temperature (BBT).
BUT what about if you are feeling a little off and you're not sure why. You've been tired for weeks now, and your body feels like it's just not working right.
Don't fret! The problem may be as simple as your luteal phase.
The luteal phase is the time between ovulation and your period—and it can be a real challenge for many women to get through. If you're experiencing symptoms like bloating, fatigue, cramps, or headaches during this time of the month, it's important to know that there are ways to manage them.
Here are some tips:
-Eat healthy! Make sure to eat a balanced diet filled with whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Also try adding flaxseeds or flaxseed oil into your daily routine as it will help regulate hormone levels and balance out any excess estrogen in your system.
-Strengthen your bones! Strengthen your bones by lifting weights or doing resistance training exercises such as push ups, squats or lunges (2-3 sessions total per week). This will help stabilize your hormones which will reduce the symptoms associated with PMS/PMSD!
-Practice breathing techniques! Practicing breathing techniques will help relieve stress levels which can become more elevated during this time
- Avoid high fattening and salty foods as these just lead to more pain and bloating
- Take the time for a break or a time out from your busy dairy and schedule a down time day as slowing down will ease the symptoms
