The BEST Piece Of Advice I Have Ever Received.

The best piece of advice I have ever received in my life was from a business mentor that I really look up to – Claire Mitchel. She always advised to avoid BURNOUT!

This game-changing piece of advice from her made me realize the importance of being busy doesn’t mean we are being productive and also that REST IS ALSO PRODUCTIVE!

We live in a fast paced world and we are bombarded with news and social media and we tend to easily compare ourselves to what others are doing and what they are up to in life, fitness and work! We tend to believe we have to be busy all the time in order to achieve success! We hardly ever switch off! And if we are resting or taking time off to relax a little then we are being lazy and missing out! Not to mention the Mom Guilt that kicks in as we feel our kids are missing out!

But what can this easily lead to…………….BURN OUT!

Burn out isn’t good for anyone. It pulls you back and makes you fall behind as it can lead to

· A low immunity which means you can easily get sick

· Injuries during your training

· Mental health issues

· Chronic stress causing heart disease, cholesterol levels and strokes

· And yes can have a huge effect on your hormones!

Burnout leads to stress….. Meaning cortisol levels rise (so your body is storing fat instead of burning it, no matter how much you exercise or diet), your insulin levels begin to rise and fall so this effects your energy levels and moods. Your sleep is destroyed which stops the release of certain hormones so effects body functions.

When you avoid burn out and give rest an importance, then the reverse of all the above happens so you are leading a healthier, more balanced lifestyle including those hormones. Rest helps us perform better, work better, train harder, function properly and over all we will be in a much better mood and can get a hell lot more done too!

If I can attribute my success as a trainer, a business owner and a mother today to one piece of advice I have ever received, this would be it!

And now, over to you!

How can you implement this piece of advice into your life?

Seriously. I have just told you a piece of advice that has totally transformed your life, so I REALLY want you to implement this as soon as you can. Please try and take a time out this holiday season, avoid the BURN OUT, say NO when you need to and do not suffer the fear of missing out, as your health will thank you for it!
